Once again it has happened. A new year is starting and the 19th year of the "Double Click" column.  I want to thank each and every one of you for reading the approximately 900 articles I have written during these years.  Thanks for the emails I continue to receive.  Not only does it let me know the articles are actually being read but I really enjoy talking to you (and getting new article ideas from you).  So please keep them coming! Thanks too to the Daily News-Record and all the work they do to get this in the paper and keep it there!

Once again, as with each year in the past, I will be reviewing the sites I wrote about during the previous year in order of mention.  If the site addresses are too long for print, I have shortened them using my "dblclx.com" predecessor.  They will be continuous characters after that lead without spaces and capitalization counts. Copy them in their entirety and then paste them in your browser’s address bar to visit the sites. If you visit this article at DoubleClicks.info you can click the links and go directly to the sites.

So, here they are in their order of appearance with short descriptions of each.

  • Google Inactive Account, dblclx.com/googleinactive, set up what happens in the event of your demise or inactivity online for an extended time.
  • Google.com, oh come on…you know this one well. It is my replacement brain.
  • AccuWeather.com, DarkSky.net, Weather.com, Weather.gov, WeatherBug.com and Wunderground.com, these are some of the most popular online weather sites.
  • Google Keep, keep.google.com, my favorite quick note taking app with many features.
  • SquareTrade.com, online warranty program for tech purchases that seems to work pretty well for me.
  • Amazon.com, yes, you know this one too.
  • Malwarebytes.com, in my opinion the best way to fight Malicious software for free on your PC (I even purchased it).
  • Streak.com, all of you ’70s teenagers relax, not that streaking but a Google Chrome extension that increases the things you can do with Gmail. I believe it is one of the best additions to Gmail yet.
  • Facebook.com, you know this one also but, in this article, I was talking about Messenger for communicating with each other.
  • Google Hangouts, hangouts.google.com, another good communications app.
  • Skype, web.Skype.com, my least favorite communications app.
  • Zoom.us, the communications app that I most prefer.
  • Dropbox.com, my old favorite cloud file storage system.
  • Sync.com, my new much more favorite online storage system, use this link, dblclx.com/get-sync-now and get an extra 1GB of storage space.
  • Gmail.com, in my opinion the best free email provider currently available today. If you do not have a Gmail account you should get one. Also, you can sign up and DoubleCliclsLive.com and get my free training course there.
  • 7-Zip, 7-zip.org, a great add on app for Windows that allows you to zip (condense) multiple files into one for storage and sending to others.
  • Google Chrome, google.com/chrome, another one that in my opinion is the best browser currently available for users like you and me. This will most likely change over time but right now I think this is the best!

Next week we will look at the rest of the links mentioned in 2019. Have a great week and do not forget to sign up for FREE Google training sessions at DoubleClicksLive.com today!
