Articles here coincide with my newspaper columns which I have been writing since 2000. Not all of my published items are on this site; however, here they do go back to 2010. I have also had published articles with Microsoft and other online tech sites.
Why is this site called, “Gray Haired Tech?” First, I have gray hair. And the people with hair color similar to mine are the people I like to help. People who have to depend on their kids, grandkids, or whoever was their “go-to” tech person(s) in the past. For a start, go to Google Groups and join Gray Haired Tech. We can all post Questions and Answers there. But maybe better, get me to help your group to learn things about online safety, how to avoid scams, how to set up your email, and more.
You could also visit my “flagship” paper, the Daily News-Record (you will need to subscribe their to see more recent articles). They have been posting them in the paper and online since the beginning, every Tuesday. I add them here the morning they run, with links, and sometimes helpful graphics. Occasionally, only graphics to make you smile.

I spent around 30 years in Va. Beach, VA, and the next 30 or so in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. I retired in 2022 as the IT Administrator for a law firm. Then I fulfilled my lifetime dream, along with my wife of 48 years and our two puppies, retiring to Central Florida for, hopefully, the last 30.
