Welcome to Gray Haired Tech! I’m Ron, and I am so happy you are here. I created this space for people like me—those of us with silver hair (or those who might dye it!)—who want to feel confident using technology.
My goal is to help you learn how to use your gadgets and software on your own. This way, you don’t have to always wait for your kids or grandkids to come over and help you. I love what I do because I get to help my friends (that I have met in person and online) stay connected and safe in the digital world.
What I Do:
- Write Helpful Articles: I have been writing tech columns for over 20 years, including 23 years with the Daily News-Record. You can find my tips and stories right here on this site.
- Talk on the Radio: Every third Monday of the month, you can catch me on WSVA Radio. If you miss the live show, you can always listen to my podcasts online.
- Give Educational Talks: I enjoy speaking to groups about many topics, including computer security, how to get good customer service, and general technology.
- Share Health Journeys: I also speak about living with Type 1 Diabetes, which I have managed since 1959.
- Provide Expert Advice: I spent my career as an IT professional (30+ years) and retired in 2022 as a tech administrator of a law firm.
After living in Virginia for 60 years, I am now enjoying my dream life in sunny Central Florida with my wonderful wife of 50 years and our two puppies. I am always here to help, so please feel free to contact me with your tech questions!
