Looking for links from 2024

First, welcome to the beginning of the 24th year of my technology articles. No, I cannot believe it either. I hear from many of you that enjoy it and learn, which is my goal. I am sure someone may enjoy lining their birdcage with it. But either way thanks for noticing!

Next, as every year for the past 23 years, I will do a series of all the sites I have mention in 2024. I will leave their names, site address (URL), and a very brief description for each in order of publication. Some will be abbreviated with shorter URLs when needed, with ghtech.site. There are provided in order of appearance and not alphabetically. Enjoy and try them out of it you do not remember then. Click the links below to visit the ones that sound interesting to you.

2024 Part 1
  • Everything, voidtools.com/faq. A great app to add to your computer that will find files much faster than Windows search will. Try it you will like it!
  • Windows AI/Copilot, ghtech.site/copilot. Find out more information about Copilot at Microsoft. Their recent AI.
  • GrayHaired.Tech. Of course, you already know this one, but that is where I have a plethora of articles for you to search, view and learn from. Also included are videos, graphics, and other helpful items.
  • Lively Wallpaper, ghtech.site/lively. For free, you may get animated wallpaper for your screen. I like the clouds slowly moving across my screens.
  • OneNote, onenote.com. This is a great, free note-taking application from Microsoft. It is already installed locally on your new Windows PC but can be accessed with any device using the link. Great for a planning, research application.
  • Ninite, ninite.com. The perfect place to go when you get a new PC. Here you can install most of the apps you may need at one time.
  • Patch My PC, ghtech.site/patch. The home/free version is a great way to make sure many of your installed applications are up-to-date. Use it regularly.
  • 10 Ways to Speed Up Your Computer, Parts 1 & 2, ghtech.site/10ways. If your computer seems slow, I suggest you read both articles at GrayHaired.Tech, it will be time well spent.
  • Malwarebytes, malwarebytes.com. In my opinion, this is the only extra security software most users should add to their PCs. The other comes built into Windows, “Windows Security.”
  • YouTube.com. You have already been there I am sure but you can learn how to do most anything you can think of, or just have a few laughs.
  • Forbes Media, forbes.com. Find and read information about almost any topic.
  • Online Health Care, HealthTap.com, Teladoc.com, MavenClinic.com, PlushCare.com, SesameCare.com, and GoodRx.com/care. These were considered in 2024 to be some of the better online health care providers. Not for anything serious, and do not leave your local PCP for these.
  • Google Support, support.google.com. This is a great resource to find answers to common questions, as well as tips and tricks on how to use any, and all, Google products and services.
  • Most popular browsers, Google Chrome (chrome.com), Microsoft Edge (microsoft.com/edge), and Mozilla Firefox, (mozilla.org/firefox). Pick your favorite. They are all good.
  • Get Text from Images, ImageToText.io, Prepostseo.com/image-to-text, and my favorite and go-to app for this, and more is Google Keep, keep.google.com. All of them provide easy ways to remove text from images and then paste the text wherever you wish.
  • Forgetfulness-7 types of normal memory problems, ghtech.site/7types. Harvard University did a study of the most common memory issues found today. Interesting read.

Come back next week and see the second list of links. I hope you look as forward to visiting them as I do to writing about them for you.
