Today I will continue with the start of the 18th year of “Double Click” by providing more of last year’s links. If the site addresses are too long for print, I have shortened them using the “bit.ly” app. Copy them, then paste them in your browser’s address bar to visit the sites. If you type them in be very exact as capitalization counts. By visiting DoubleClicks.info you can click the links and go directly to the sites.

Let us begin in order of appearance.

  • Grammerly.com well as spelling and more on your PC, tablets, email, web, etc.
  • Gmail.com, this is the world’s most popular email provider today. This includes for individuals as well as many businesses. If you do not use it you may want to consider it as it has many useful features.
  • Google.com – you know this one as the most used and well-known search engine today.
  • Google Information, earth.google.com, sky.google.com, trends.google.com, artsandculture.google.com, trends.google.com, these are several of Google’s sites that provide a world (and space) full of information. Try them out.
  • Double Clicks Live, DoubleClicksLive.com, my training site where, once I get restarted and time, I will provide technology lessons for people in the area. My goal is for people that were around before computers.
  • Three Two ways to send text messages from your computer through your phone, in order of my preference, messages.android.com, mightytext.net, textto.io.
  • Productivity Suites, Office.com (Microsoft), Docs.Google.com (Google) and LibreOffice.org (Libre Office). These are the three popular free document apps/sites. All are good for writing, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Dropbox.com, in my opinion, the best online file storage system. Also mentioned was Google Drive (Drive.Google.com) which is a close second and works hand-in-hand with Google Docs mentioned above.
  • The Statistics Portal, statista.com, you guessed it loads of stats from all over the globe.
  • Browsers, Chrome.com (Google), Apple.com/Safari (Apple), Firefox.com (Mozilla) and Edge (Microsoft’s default browser), these are the major players in the browser wars.
  • SpeedTest.net, check your actual Wi-Fi speed wherever you are located.
  • Games I like, Backgammon (bit.ly/2RtoyRT), Canasta (bit.ly/2zUZD2S), GeoCaching.com, GeoGuessr.com (notice the spelling), the first two are Android links but other phone formats are also available.
  • Google Photos, Photos.Google.com, a great place to store and edit unlimited numbers of photos.
  • Ron’s Photos, bit.ly/2AE89Th, photos I shared showing how you can also share your pics with friends.
  • SoundPEATS Wireless Bluetooth In-Ear Stereo, amzn.to/2C3jwos, good inexpensive earbuds.

Well, there you go another year has ended and a new one has begun. I wish all of you the best for 2019.

Enjoy looking at the things I mention here from 2018. Next week, we will be looking at more computer and technology information. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

Have a Happy Tech Year – 2019!
